When using Autodesk Inventor appearances to define the edges and top side of a 3D modeled part, you need to be sure that the appearance name matches exactly to the AREC Settings for that particular feature.
In order to utilize the appearance recognition, you will need to create appearances within Autodesk Inventor that relate to edgebanding and top side definitions used in AREC, please refer to your Autodesk Inventor documentation for the correct procedure.
Note: In order to define X-Axis (grain direction), you must use the symbol included and apply it to a face according to the AREC Symbol Specification. This is for Autodesk Inventor and all other 3D modeling software programs.
