The Cut List is an AutoCAD table object that shows all the materials and parts in the Solid-CIM 3D assembly. The figure below shows a Cut List.

Each material is unique, and is defined by thickness.  Each part is unique and defined by name, size and material.  The quantity used for each part in the assembly is provided.  An image of each part is also displayed for reference.

The Cut List is also an editor.  If needed, the part name column can be edited to specify the name.  The Name column is the only editable column in the table.

To modify the name of a part, select a cell in the Name column of the table.  Type the desired name.  The existing cell value will be replaced with the new typed name.  The selection will then move to the next row.

When finished editing or viewing the table you must enter the command SCIM to return to Solid-CIM 3D.  Any edits to the table will be reviewed by Solid-CIM 3D.  If there is a validation problem a message will appear and the table will remain until corrected.  If the table contents are accepted by Solid-CIM 3D, the display will be returned to the assembly view.

Cut List Table (Bill of Materials) This AutoCAD table object is stored in the drawing as an AutoCAD block and can be inserted for as a Bill of Materials presentation. The information in the Cut List is formatted for plotting. The different text sizes range from 14pt for titles, 12pt for column headings and 10pt for part information. These typographic sizes are approximate. The actual physical sizes run from 5/16 inch to 1/8 inch. All the text in the Cut List is formatted for readability. The Cut List block name is __CutList ( notice that is two underscores ). The block can be inserted as an exploded block yielding an editable and sizable table object in AutoCAD.

Presentation
With the annotative attribute of part numbers and the Cut List table available as an inserted object, a presentation of a Bill of Materials can be easily developed.
